City Services Day - November 28, 2017
The City of Millbrae will host its inaugural City Services Day on Tuesday, November 28! From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., residents and visitors can talk face-to-face with City police, fire, and public works staff about home protection, public safety, and more.
The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office (SMCS), Central County Fire Department (CCFD), and Millbrae Public Works will each have their own space, with dedicated staff members to answer questions and discuss City and County projects.
If you want to receive some best practices for preventing residential or vehicle burglary and avoiding phone scams, stop by the SMCS booth! In March 2012, the responsibility to provide law enforcement services for the City of Millbrae transitioned from the Millbrae Police Department to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. SMCS is committed to protecting public safety throughout the County, while upholding the integrity of the public’s trust and showcasing compassion to all community members.
CCFD will also be out in full force! Formed in April 2004, CCFD serves the communities of Burlingame, Hillsborough, and Millbrae. True to their mission statement, CCFDis dedicated to enhancing the quality of life, property, and environment by preventing ignition sources and mitigating fire impact to communities. Say hello and ask about fire prevention and defensible space, as well as the numerous programs they offer, such as CERT Training and CPR/AED Training!
Well-maintained infrastructure projects are as essential to the community’s public safety as police and fire services. The Millbrae Public Works crew members work hard throughout the year to make sure that the City continues to be a great place to visit, work, and live. Check out the Public Works tables to learn more about ongoing infrastructure programs like the Sanitary Sewer System Modernization and to ask for a few tips on preparing your home for the winter months!
This event is a great opportunity to learn more about how City and County staff members keep Millbrae safe and running smoothly, and what the community can do to assist them.
City Services Day will take place in the Chetcuti Room and the Millbrae Library, within the Civic Center Plaza.
