Post Date:12/19/2016 9:42 AM

The City of Millbrae and the Millbrae Police Bureau announce that Deputy Michael Sanders has joined the ranks of Millbrae’s Police Bureau to begin work to address traffic safety concerns in our city.

Deputy Michael Sanders has been a member of the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office for seven years, and began his law enforcement career with the California Highway Patrol in January 1983. While with the CHP, he worked in various area offices throughout the state. His experience includes extensive academy and in-service training in all facets of accident investigation, and DUI and traffic enforcement. He became a motor officer in 1989 and rode for 10 years before promoting to the rank of sergeant and assuming motor sergeant duties in the San Jose area office in 1999.

Recently, Deputy Sanders completed the motorcycle update training course at the CHP Academy, which eased the transition to motorcycle traffic enforcement duties for his position here in Millbrae. Deputy Sanders' desire is to set a framework for a balanced, multi-modal transportation network that is safe, efficient, and minimizes environmental and neighborhood impacts to our city. He will incorporate a high visibility enforcement approach to his duties, and combine enforcement and communications strategy to educate the public and promote voluntary compliance with the law. He strongly believes that traffic enforcement is an agency priority as it will assist in reducing and deterring other crimes throughout our city.

Welcome aboard Deputy Sanders!!
