[ARCHIVED] Halloween Candy Wrapper Art Contest

Halloween Candy-Wrapper Contest (375 x 550 px) (1)

This Halloween, Millbrae Environmental Programs is shining a spotlight on the scariest monster around — plastic waste! To tackle this growing problem, we’re inviting all Millbrae students, from Kindergarten to High School Seniors, to get creative by transforming leftover candy wrappers or other recycled materials into incredible art pieces. And yes, prizes are up for grabs!

How to Participate:

  • Create your art using recycled materials like candy wrappers.
  • Submit your entry between October 1 and November 15 to Millbrae Environmental Programs at Millbrae City Hall (621 Magnolia Avenue), Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Judging Criteria:

  • Theme: How well does your art connect to the Halloween or environmental theme?
  • Originality: Is your piece creative and unique?
  • Effort: How much time and care went into creating your masterpiece?

Prizes:

One winner from each group (Elementary, Middle, and High School) will win a prize valued at up to $50 in gift cards and will be recognized at the November 26 City Council meeting!

Got extra-clean candy wrappers you want to donate for this cause? You can drop them off at the Public Works Counter at Millbrae City Hall. Need more wrappers? Call us at (650) 652-2706 to check availability.

For more information or questions, email us at environment@ci.millbrae.ca.us or give us a call at (650) 652-2706.

Let’s turn trash into treasure this Halloween!
